LoopTV recently paid a visit to this years London Audio Engineering Society convention to check out some of the pro audio mics, monitors and preamps being launched this year.

We talked to Wes Dooley from AEA ribbon mics to find out about the new ‘Bugatti’ of ribbon mics the R44 and why everyone from 20th Century Fox, Sony Music, Air Studios and Abbey Road are clamoring for the revival of these high-end production models.

We also talked to Neumann’s Andrew Goldberg about their latest studio monitor range including the mid-range 0300 series and the large 0500 monitor bins.

Then we rounded things off with a look at Brent Averill Enterprises latest 1028 preamp, an update to the previous 1073 preamps – which are authentic reproductions of the original vintage Neve 1073 console modules.  BAE’s Mark Loughman takes us through the range.
