LoopTV are proud to present part 1 of our new ‘Frontline Producer Series’ with industry veteran Laurance Traverso.
Genoa born musician, producer and arranger Laurance Traverso has built a reputation for creating driving melodies and contagious hooks, and efficient project turn around under high pressure.
His clients have included Sony BMG, Sanctuary Castle, Jack Morton (The Commonwealth Games), The prague Philharmonic, while working alongside talents such as Ray Staff and Clif Norrel (REM, Jeff Buckley, Sting and Faith No More). In this series we put him to the test once more…
We’ll be looking at his workflow and production methods as he rises to the challenge to prepare a new pop music project to pitch to a record company…in just 48 hrs!
The series follows his progress over the 48 hr window as we see his song bloom from humble beginnings into a polished project. He covers everything from initial song conception, audio tracking, arrangement, vocal production, studio etiquette to final mixdown! You can check out the Strongroom studios here.
In this first episode Laurance shows us how to get started in Pro tools offering different ways to start your songwriting up and running with the use of Smapled loops to get you inspired.
Along the way Laurance shows us some great production techniques, compositional tools of the trade, and offers sound recording tips and tricks for anyone in a similar position – looking to add polish and serious pro-production values when up against it!
Remember…the clocks ticking!
Enjoy!

great videos for many reasons! Thank you Laurance and looptv- i need to know what are the cd’s of loops you are sampling in the beginning please? as i feel i could produce these ‘beat’ cd’s. I have 4 years worth of logic home produced tracks that i have complied as a side project whilst being a working session drummer- i have hundreds of songs along the same line as the one actually being produced in this clip- beats and finished songs are coming out of my ears i have three hard drives full of finished tracks and ideas- but dont know where to start with getting them out there. i want to find management i really dont know where to start with this process as i am worried about people plajorising my work, but on the other hand i also do not want to let the tunes go to waste as i know there is work for me out there making music once i am working in the right circles. Where would you suggest would be the best place to start with finding management?… any help on this matter would mean the world- i have a lot to give i just need to know where to start giving it. Many regards, Ben
